We lost a dear friend early morning on August 15, 2020. Vita O'Reilly was the Forensic investigator in Liberty County. Wednesday, during the day she suffered a massive heart attack, she was rushed to the hospital where they tried everything to revive her. She never regained consciousness. Vita was Captain DeFoor’s sidekick and was a champion of Multi-County Crime Stoppers. “Vita O’Reilly will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace, Vita,” said Capt. Ken DeFoor, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

A memorial service to honor Vita O’Reilly and her many accomplishments and dedicated service to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the community she helped to serve will be held on:

‍The MCCS Board conducted the July 2020 meeting via Zoom. Due to COVID-19 and continued efforts to adhere to social distancing, virtual meetings will be held until further notice. In the coming months, the board anticipates that meetings will be both virtual and face-to-face.

The Multi-County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning at noon.
