The Proactive citizen newsletter from multi-county crime stopperS | ||
Welcome to the February 2020 newsletter of Multi-county Crime Stoppers serving the Texas counties of Montgomery, Liberty, and San Jacinto. This newsletter is used to keep our supporters informed about our activities and other topics of interest. |
||
![]() GRANTSNo grants were awarded in February after a very active January where $75,000 was awarded. Over $400,000 in grants have been directly spent in our communities to make us all safer since program inception over 5 years ago.As a reminder, unlike tip rewards which are funded by court case assessments, our community grants draw from corporate and individual contributions. These charitable contributions are raised and accounted for separately, fund equipment and training, and are rigorously reviewed and justified to better support the mission and successes of law enforcement agencies in our multi county area. |
||
![]() TIP ACTIVITYIn February 2020, $750 was awarded on 1 tip. The felon was charged with an assault family violence by strangulation. As with all tips, other details are not disclosed as part of our obligation to maintain confidentiality for all of our tipsters.As a reminder, a new list of featured felons is published weekly and can be view here, and the collective results of these postings can be viewed here. |

![]() Remembering Charlotte BranhamIn February, 2020 we lost another pillar of the Montgomery County community. Charlotte Branham died after a full and impactful life leaving behind a son, 3 siblings, 2 step sons, 4 step daughters, 16 grandchildren, 28 step grandchildren, 4 nieces, 3 nephews and very heartbroken Crime Stoppers board.Charlotte was an active business owner and volunteer for over 45 years including over 3 decades of service to this Crime Stoppers board (most recently as Secretary). For decades, Charlotte and her husband Don “Big Daddy” were pillars of the Conroe, Panorama Village and Montgomery County communities always doing the “right things”, greeting all with a big smile and ensuring what needed to be done got done. Her loss leaves a void that will be impossible to replace; however, memories that will live forever. |
